Remember That Name!
Someone once said that there is nothing sweeter than a person hearing the sound of their own name. Calling someone by name makes them feel acknowledged and important. Here are a few tips to help you remember names:

  • Listen when introduced to someone new.
  • Look at the person and make a silent association between their name and something else that will help remember.
  • Exaggerate that silent association.
  • Repeat the association to yourself a few times.
  • Use the person’s name in conversation – “Nice to meet you, Carol” – because saying the name out loud helps you remember.

Discussion Forum Digest
Sign up to receive daily or instant updates from any of AOA's robust Discussion Forums to see activity right in your inbox. The daily digest will email you once a day with a recap of all activity in that forum; the instant updates will send you emails as people post in the forum. This is a great way to automate information directly to you instead of logging into the forums each day to review activity. With the subscription, you will be able to click into the new postings right from your inbox to respond instantly.

To sign up, log into the AOA website and choose "Discussion Forums" under the "Members Only" tab. From there, click into whichever forum you wish to receive updates from. In the gray bar at the top of the forum, click "Forum Actions" and then choose "Subscribe to Digest" for the daily email and/or "Subscribe to Instand Updates" for emails as people post. You can quickly and easily sign up for one or both of these updates.
