Membership
The Membership Committee is responsible for existing AOA member renewals and for creating and implementing plans to attract new members. The Membership welcomes members who can assist with the planning and creation of marketing strategies designed to increase AOA membership.
- What do committee members do?
- Committee members participate on conference calls (no more than once per month) and are asked to help generate ideas and provide feedback regarding issues impacting membership retention and growth.

Education
The Education Committee is responsible for the development and scheduling of webinar on topics covering a broad spectrum of medical practice, but as specifically as possible to ENT practices. This also involves acquiring speakers and presenters for the webinars. The committee also works closely with the Program Committee in planning the concurrent educational session courses and speakers for the annual meeting.
- What do committee members do?
- Committee members participate on conference calls (no more than once per month) and are asked to help generate ideas and provide feedback on webinar topics and annual meeting educational content. Members are asked to help identify potential speakers and will occasionally review material being considered for webinars and concurrent sessions at the meeting

Practice Management
The Practice Management Committee is our largest and most active membership committee and they work on a variety of membership resources throughout the year including:
- Maintaining and updating the materials contained on the Practice Management Webpage, including researching and collecting content for the Resource Library
- Monitoring and Responding to membership inquires posted on the Discussion Boards
- Assisting with maintaining the AOA Networking List for our members.
- Providing assistance and input to Project Coordinators for the Salary & Benchmarking Surveys
- Providing volunteer assistance where needed to Program Committee with speaker introductions and AOA Booth staffing
- Maintaining, reviewing and updating AOA Resource Manuals; assisting with development of new manuals.
- What do committee members do?
- Committee members participate on monthly conference calls and help generate ideas related to the Practice Management resources available to our members. This committee works on a variety of different items allowing committee members to select those areas they are most interested in working on.
- Some examples: Two committee members monitor the discussion boards monthly-with this rotation, it is usually a maximum of once per year; Resource Library items are distributed to the committee for review as they are submitted via email and comments are compiled by the chair of the committee, when manuals are reviewed, volunteer members are assigned a section, or a specific policy or document to review.
- Committee members can select areas that they want to work on based on their level of comfort and time available—every person’s contribution, big or small, adds value.

Legislative Advisory
The Legislative Advisory Committee works to keep members abreast of legislative issues impacting Otolaryngology Practice Management at the Federal as well as the State level.
- What do committee members do?
- Committee members participate on conference calls (no more than once per month). They are the eyes and ears of the membership in terms of legislative issues. As issues and concerns arise, they will alert the Legislative Committee Chair and Deputy Chair so that they can consider potential impact to Otolaryngology Practice Management and determine if the AOA should take a position on the issue or provide communication to the membership. Occasionally, committee members may be asked to write or review articles written by other committee members for the Oto-Scope or AOA E-Blasts.

Ambassador
The Ambassador Committee is responsible for connecting first time meeting attendees and/or new members with current members who help introduce them to the AOA-primarily at the annual meeting, but throughout the year as well. The committee is working to further develop this membership program by defining the role of the Ambassadors to meet the needs of this specific segment of our membership.
- What do committee members do?
- Committee members participate on conference calls (no more than once per month) and contribute by discussing activities and sharing ideas related to the Ambassador Program.
- Committee members are expected to volunteer to as an ambassador, attend the annual meeting and participate in the ambassador meet and greet as well as the welcome reception while at the meeting.

Editorial Board
The Editorial Board, led by the AOA’s Executive Director, focuses on the Oto-Scope. The Oto-Scope is the association’s magazine, published three times per year in print and on our website. This committee helps plan the content of the Oto-Scope in addition to submitting and reviewing articles for upcoming issues.
- What do committee members do?
- Committee members participate on conference calls (no more than once per month) and contribute by reviewing articles for the Oto-Scope, writing articles or submitting articles written by others.
- Committee members also help by providing feedback to the editor regarding topics for the Oto-Scope.

Program
The Program Committee plans the time, speakers, and networking opportunities for the annual meeting. The committee also works closely with the Education Committee to coordinate the concurrent educational sessions. Come help us lay all of this information out and provide to all the AOA members the best Annual Educational Conference we can give from a volunteer association. This is a fabulous conference and it gets better every year, help us keep that going!
- What do committee members do?
- Committee members participate on conference calls (no more than once per month) and can contribute by offering their feedback and suggestions regarding the annual meeting plans and other important activities such as:
- Review Annual Conference Evaluations and provide feedback
- Write Speaker Thank You notes
- Assist in finding volunteers for speaker introductions
- Selecting and organizing Lanyards and Bags for members
- Select speakers for the conference
- Help select and plan the Evening Out Event

COPM
The COPM Committee is for interested COPM members only, as COPM designation is a requirement for participation. This committee is responsible for the general oversight of the COPM program which also includes maintaining the COPM Study Guide, overseeing the recertification process, and other various ad-hoc committees that arise throughout the year related to COPM.
- What do committee members do?
- COPM Committee members participate on conference calls (no more than once per month) when they discuss the COPM in general as well as any activities that are currently going on.
- Members of the COPM Committee often break out into ad-hoc committees to focus on certain areas such the Study Guide maintenance and review or the application and recertification process.
- Members may also contribute articles, comments or links to resources for the COPM Connection, an e-mail newsletter for COPM designees.
