Transform Your Practice with amgTM's High-Performing Clinic Model

What keeps your practice’s patients coming back, time and time again? Whether it is their loyalty to a specific physician, the quality and value of the services and products you offer, or the superior patient experience from scheduling an appointment to the billing process, there must be something that retains and attracts new patients consistently. Without these specific qualities, your practice is running on borrowed time.

When Audiology Management Group sets out to transform a practice by applying our High-Performing Clinic Model, we look at several principles that audiologists and physicians rely on and combine their best features. Get started by downloading our informative resource guide and then contact us to set up a free practice assessment.

Understanding How MIPS Applies to Your Practice
If you perform CT in your office, you may be wondering how CMS’s new MACRA payment program will affect billing for your in-office CT.

MACRA (Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act) will be reducing reimbursement rates for traditional fee-for-service models, and increasing reimbursement rates for providers who adopt “quality performance measures” via one of two programs: (1) MIPS (Merit-Based Incentive Payment System) or (2) APM (Advanced Alternative Payment Model).

If your practice uses MIPS, physicians’ fees will be adjusted based on performance in four categories: quality, advancing care information, clinical improvement activities, and cost. It is a competitive program that will distribute payments between healthcare providers based on relative performance. The program will be scored on a 100-point scale, and those earning a final score of 70 or higher in 2017 will be eligible for an "exceptional performance adjustment" from a pool of $500 million.

CMS has requested that reporting for MIPS begin Jan. 1, 2017. Data from your first performance year will determine your payment adjustments beginning Jan. 1, 2019.

Additional MACRA implementation guidelines are slowly being released, and Xoran will keep you updated with the latest-and-greatest information about what you need to know to maximize your reimbursement under MACRA.
