The Advocacy Committee is the sounding board of governmental mandates, insurance issues and call to actions. The committee conducts monthly conference calls to discuss the current issues and ideas for the newsletter, ENT Voice. Additionally, forward information to AOA Office when seeing any new government or insurance mandates and issues.

The COPM Advisory Board is responsible for the general oversight of the COPM program which also includes maintaining the high standards of the certification process, overseeing the re-certification process, writing exam questions, and identifying educational trends and needs for AOA members and staff of members. You must be a COPM to be considered for this committee. This committee meets at least monthly plus may require additional travel.

The Education Committee is responsible for the development and scheduling of webinars, on topics covering a broad spectrum of medical practice, but as specifically as possible to ENT. This also involves acquiring speakers and presenters for the webinars. This committee develops AOA University modules as well as the AOA Resource Manual. The committee works closely with the Program Committee in planning the concurrent educational sessions and speakers for the annual educational conference.

The Membership Committee meets monthly via conference call to discuss membership ideas and review the membership reports. The membership committee is responsible for implementing plans and ideas for both existing AOA member renewals and attracting new members. The Membership Committee welcomes members who can assist with the planning and creation of strategies designed to increase and retain AOA members. This committee meets monthly.

The Editorial Board, led by the AOA’s Executive Director, focuses on the Oto's-Scope. The Oto-Scope is the association’s magazine, published four times per year electronically on our website. This committee helps plan the content of the theme and content for Oto's-Scope in addition to submitting and reviewing articles for upcoming issues. The Editorial Board meets via conference call quarterly and also is responsible for the final proofing of the magazine.

The Program Committee works with the program chair and the meeting planner to plan the outline of the meeting and networking opportunities for the annual educational conference. They help with anything which needs done for the conference including on-site activities when needed. This is a fabulous conference and it gets better every year, help us keep that going . This committee meets approximately 6-8 times per year.
